Jack Lundin

President & CEO, Lundin Mining

2024 – MEDAL OF MERIT UNDER 40 RECIPIENT

Jack LundinJack Lundin is President and CEO of Lundin Mining. He served as President during the Company's acquisition of a majority interest in the Caserones mine in Chile and the advancement of its portfolio of growth projects. He has extensive experience in the natural resource industry gained through exposure with several Lundin Group companies. He began his career in the mining sector working prospecting jobs on early-stage projects in Canada and Europe.

Prior to joining Lundin Mining, he was President & CEO of Bluestone Resources Inc.  and Project Superintendent at Lundin Gold. At Lundin Gold, he was involved in the highly successful construction and operation of the Fruta del Norte Gold Mine in southern Ecuador. Fruta del Norte is considered one of the highest-grade gold mines currently in production in the world, with mineral reserves of 5.5 million ounces of gold grading 7.89 grams per ton.

Lundin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Chapman University of California and a Master of Engineering degree in Mineral Resource Engineering from The University of Arizona. He currently sits on the boards of  Lundin Gold, the Lundin Foundation, as well as The University of Arizona's School of Mining and Mineral Resources.

Lundin and his brother William scaled the heights of Mount Everest reaching the top of the world on the morning of May 16, 2023. Called Project No Limit, the campaign was to raise awareness and funding for glioblastoma research and the Lundin Cancer Fund. Their expedition was featured in the 'Project No Limit' documentary. The Everest climb has raised more than C$4 million for the mission. The climb was to honor their father, Lukas Lundin, the globally renowned resource titan and 2020 American Mining Hall of Fame Inductee who had died a year earlier from glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.
